This was a coloring I did over a sketch I did over a year ago, a lot liek the Nicole one I posted last week. I know its not my usual style, but I hope you guys like it just the same. I was mainly experimenting with opacity and lighting effects in this, Hopefully it turned out satisfactory.
It seemed innocent enough...a single acorn. Odd though it was to find it sitting upon a pedestal, Sally saw nothing about it that suggested it was anything other than what it appeared. Yet something deep inside of the squirrel could tell that there was more than met the eye to the innocuous object. Unsure of what she was expecting to happen, but compelled to do SOMETHING, she reached a single, tenuous hand out to touch it...
As her fingers closed in upon it, the acorn lit up as bright as a flame, glowing like a star. Yet the light did not hurt Sally's eyes...indeed, looking at the light sent waves of awe through her body. She could feel a great power circling the acorn as it slowly floated up from the pedestal, a wind pushing against her, blowing her hair and fur about. Still, her hand remained outreached...the secret was out in the open, begging to be touched...to be held...
Warmth tingling at the ends of her finger tips, Sally grabbed the acorn in a single, quick movement...and instantly, she knew now what its true power was...

I like the detail on the vine, as well as the rest of the picture.

While this drawing is definitely different from your usual style, I absolutely love it all the same. There's something that lends this a magical, mystical quality, like I'm almost seeing this through a mirror or some other type of viewing aperture; it feels like the light from the acorn is being reflected off it a little. It's outstanding and I'd say it's one of my favorites, but all of your art is a favorite of mine.
I remember the first time I tried coloring with the intention of removing the lines. It wasn't pretty.
Cool effects you have going there. Light beams are super fun to make.
